But I’ll say it in a way that will help you recognize and build on the writing strengths you already possess.

Where I work

I am based in Toronto. But most of my work as a coach happens on the phone and online. I use Zoom for video calls, and phone for audio-only calls.

How it begins

It all begins with a free 15-minute exploratory call.

At this initial meeting, we’ll discuss your writing project, and your your writing experience and challenges. You may already have a clear idea what you need, or you may not. That’s cool! We’ll figure it out.

You can also ask me questions about my experience, my process, my references, anything you need to know in order to make the commitment to working on your writing with me.

A custom plan

Every writer’s life and goals are different, so I create custom packages that account for the fluid nature of this work.

For these individualized packages, my fees vary based how much time I expect to spend working with you or your group. I write a proposal that includes a proposed project description, timeline and budget. The proposal is based what I’ve learned about your needs, skills, time availability and goals.


I base my proposals on an hourly coaching rate of about $75 per hour, per person.

This price includes the many hours I put into prep and feedback for each individual.

So that means budgets go up incrementally depending on the size of our writing group. This per-person fees allows me to put time into understanding each person’s writing process and goals so I can respond meaningfully to their writing.

Some ballpark prices:

  • Six one-hour meetings cost about $1500 for one individual. For groups, add $250 per person.
  • 12 one-hour meetings cost about $3000 for one individual. For groups, add $500 per person.


I give individualized feedback and resources that help writers lean on their strengths and work on their weaknesses. By the end of our work together, you’ll think of yourself as a writer.

When we work in a group, individuals connect over content. You and your colleagues will identify and articulate shared goals, such as:

  • Let’s think like publishers
  • Let’s put the reader’s needs and expectations first
  • Let’s commit time to writing and be accountable to a content schedule
  • Let’s pick a shared style guide and stick to it


BEWARE: Asking questions about content can sometimes bring you to the point of asking yourself: Who am I? What am trying to say? I’ll ask you to think about the value you add to the world, the skills you bring to the table, and the culture you ultimately want to create. Are you ready to cultivate your inner thought leader?

Making a commitment

If you like what I’m proposing, you approve the plan and we’re good to go! After that, we set up a schedule for our work together.

How we communicate

We’ll use a combination of email, phone, Zoom and in-person meetings. You can choose the channels that work best for you.

During the period of our work together, you’ll have unlimited access to me by email. You can ask questions, send a smoke signal or celebrate a win.

For sharing documents, I love using Google Drive. I’ll ask you to share your writing with me using this free cloud storage service.

How scheduling works

I book meetings at prearranged times. I’m flexible about interview times during business hours (M-F, 9-5, ET).
